Certificate question when importing configuration to a different model

L0 Member

I know you can import configuration snapshot from one model to another but what happens to the certificates?  Does the certificates gets imported and still work just fine or do I need to generate a new CRS and import new certificates.  Side note, the new box will have a different name then the old box.  Going from a PA-850 to PA-1410.

Hello,

I wouldnt do a state export when going between models. Do a config export configuration instead. The certificates are in the xml exported, but will give you errors. Here is what I would do:

Export the config from the 850, edit the XML and delete the certificates, import the XML into the new 1410. Then generate new certs.

Cheers!
